Hiking Ierissos - Gomati

Our hike starts from the Square of Ierissos and passing by the chapel of Prophet Elijah we climb through old paths of the area on Mount Athoulis up to 300m. altitude and then we descend to the village of Gomatios, which is located at the foot of the mountain. The route is about 11 km and lasts 2.3 to 3 hours.The area is characterized by the change of landscape from rocky and bushy from the side of Ierissos to a forest of Aria, Pournari, Koumaria etc. going uphill and passing on the other side of the mountain heading to Gomati.
